As per current GCR’s. Excludes supermoto machines.

1.    Supermoto and motocross or road/trail machines, and non ADR complied  machines are not eligible for this class.

2.    All bikes must carry all relevant compliance plates or in the case of grey imports be of a similar make and model that was ADR compliant.

3.    Supermono frames must be of a make or model that is or was ADR compliant.

4.    Hand built frames are ineligible for this class.

5.    The following may be added

·                Steering damper

·                Electronic instruments and timing devices, providing they are fitted to the satisfaction of the scrutineer

·                Ride height adjuster

·                Quick shifter

6.    Body Shape – the following may be replaced or modified

·                Fairings providing it can display the required number board

·                Be fitted to the satisfaction of the scrutineer

·                Screens provided no sharp edges may protrude from the fairing

·                Rear bodywork

·                Seat

·                Mudguards

·                Tank covers

·                Side covers

NOTE: REMOVAL OF A FAIRING DOES NOT REMOVE THE REQUIREMENT FOR A BELLY PAN. ONLY MACHINES WITHOUT A LOWER FAIRING THAT AND WERE / ARE ADR COMPLIANT WITHOUT ONE ARE EXEMPT FROM THE BELLY PAN REQUIREMENT. IF A FAIRING OR LOWER FAIRING IS ADDED, A CATCH TRAY MUST BE FITTED.

7.    Engine capacity tolerances

·         The actual engine capacities are;

·         2 stroke multi cylinder machines 250 -cc (+ 2%)

·         2 stroke single cylinder machines 250- 400cc (+ 2%)

·         4 stroke single cylinder machines 250- 1000 (+ 2%)

·         4 stroke twin cylinder machines 255 – 650cc (+ 2%)

·         4 stroke multi cylinder machine 255 – 400cc (+/ 2%)

8.    Suspension

·         Front suspension springs, damping parts and fork caps may be modified or replaced but the externals of the forks must be of the same make or model, changing from upside down forks to conventional forks or vise versa is prohibited.

·         Rear shock springs and damping parts may be modified or replaced but the shock absorber body must be off the same make or model.

·         Suspension components other than those that were ADR compliant are prohibited.

9.    Brakes

·         After market rotors are allowed as long as they are the same diameter and at least the same thickness as the standard rotor for the make and model

·         Callipers must be standard for the make and model

10. Wheels

·         Front and rear wheels must be the same width as standard, off a road going machine of the same make or model – lightweight race rims are prohibited

·         Naked bikes can use the same rims as the other machines in the class

11. Tyres

·         May be competition use only treaded tyres

·         May be slicks

·         TYRE WARMERS ARE PERMITTED IN THIS CLASS.

12. CDIs and coils

·         Must be from the same make or model

·         Ignition retarders are prohibited

·         All ignition components must be OEM and not modified but may be re-mapped.

13. Starter and alternator

·         If the machine was fitted with starter and alternator system when new, these components must be in place, in working order and securely fastened to the satisfaction of  the scrutineer

·         The starter motor system must be capable of starting the motor, without aid, should it be required either in the pits or on the track.

14. Frame and swing arm

·         With the exception of supermono machines, frame (main structure) and swing arm must be standard for the model

·         Minor alterations to facilitate fitment of engine to supermono frames are permitted

·         Modifications for ride height adjustment only are allowed for all machines

15. Triple clamps

·         Triple clamps must be standard for the make and model

16. Camshafts

·         Camshafts must retain the same lift and duration as is standard for the make and model. (excluding supermono).

17. Engine crankcase appearance

·         Crank case external appearance must be standard for the model

·         Alternator and timing covers may be strengthened.

18. Compression ratio

·         For Supermono machines there are no compression ratio restrictions

·         For all other machines compression ratio must be standard for the make and model

19. Exhaust Systems

·         Exhaust systems are free – Noise emission shall not exceed parameters as defined in the current edition of The Motorcycling Australia Manual Of Motorcycle Sport.

TWIN SPORT.

Twin sport machines.

250 SUPERSPORT SPECIFICATION

ELIGIBLE MACHINES SHALL BE:

·         250CC Four Stroke

·         123cc – 150cc Two Stroke Production based machines only – Excludes GP125.

1.  Engine capacities shall be -:

·         250cc with a +/- 2% tolerance.

·         123 cc – 150 cc with a +/- 2% tolerance.

ALL MACHINES MUST BE ABLE TO BE LEGALLY REGISTERED FOR ROAD USE IN AUSTRALIA. IN THE CASE OF NON-COMPLIANCED “GREY IMPORTS”, A MACHINE OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL MUST HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BE LEGALLY REGISTERED FOR ROAD USE IN AUSTRALIA.

EXCLUDES SUPERMOTO MACHINES.

2.    Items to be standard for the model

·         Triple clamps

·         Frame (main structure)

·         Swing arm

·         Camshafts- Lift & duration & grind to remain Standard

·         Carburettor bodies

·         Crank cases

·         Alternator & starting systems must be in working order

·         Exhaust and inlet ports, porting & polishing are not allowed.

3.    Tyres must comply with the following

·         Be commercially available in Australia

·         Be not less than the manufactures recommended speed & load rating

·         Be worn no more than to the minimum tread depth indicators

·         Slick tyres may be used for Club Championship events ONLY.

·         Tyre warmers are allowed

4.    Wheels

·         Front & rear wheels must be standard for that make and model.

·         LIGHT WEIGHT  RACE RIMS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

5.    Brakes

·         Callipers to be standard for that make & model and mounted in the standard position.

·         After market rotors are allowed but must be same diameter and at least same thickness as standard rotor for that make & model

6.    The following may be fitted or Modified

·         Ignition Coils

·         Steering damper

·         Any road race fairing is permitted with-in the confines of the MoM’s provided it is securely fitted to the satisfaction of the scrutineer.

·         Handle bars may be replaced and they may be moved from above to below the triple clamps.

·         Electronic instruments.

·         No data logging devices are permitted.

·         Foot pegs may be replaced with aftermarket items , but must be folding or shear type pegs.

·         Mounts may be raised or modified

·         Frame protection devices, but these must be no more than 80mm in diameter or protrude more than 80mm from the machine body work.

·         Fuel metering jets and needle maybe replaced but NOT SLIDES.

·         Spark plug leads & caps
l) External gearing.

·         Brake friction materials

·         Brake lines with ADR approved replacements

·         Radiator fan may be replaced or removed

·         Air box may be modified or removed pods or velocity stacks fitted.

·         Header pipe and muffler may be replaced- all machines must comply with the current MoM’s noise limitations.

·         Rear suspension linkages may be modified but not replaced. Springs may be replaced but the external appearance is to remain the same.

·         Sub Frames may be modified.

·         Front suspension springs, damping rods and fork caps may be modified or replaced but the external appearance is to remain the same.

RRAT Super single Machinery Specification:

·         Single cylinder Supermoto machines, Supermono machines as per current track licence.

·         EXCLUDES: GP125s and Moto3 machines.

RRAT Formula Road Race Machinery Specifications:

·         Superlites, Motolites, Commuterlites

·         Production 250cc/4 stroke and 150cc/2 stroke as per current MoMS

·         Production 300cc – 500cc, up to 650cc/4 stroke twins, Supermono to 750cc, 450GP, 261cc – 400cc/4 stroke Multi cylinder, 250cc/2 Stroke Multi cylinder.

·         Twin sport machines (450cc/4 cylinder 600’s excluded)

·         GP125, 250Mono and Moto3 machines

·         Excludes Supermoto Machines

 

 

 

Junior Corporate Challenge


Under 16? You can come racing with RRAT

We very proudly have the ‘Junior Corporate Challenge’ to help the young riders of Townsville & surrounds have the opportunity of racing with us & they could do so on a sponsored bike.

This is where the bike is supplied for the year. On the road racing style of bike, the minimum age is 12yrs old up to 16 yrs (when they move into the senior classes). On the Motards (dirtbikes with road tyres) the minimum age is 9yrs old & again up to 16 yrs old (when they move into the senior classes). The size of the bikes can range from 80cc’s up to 250cc’s & there are 3 age groups of racing.
