Club Information

The Road Racing Association of Townsville , inc. was incorporated on the 26th of  June 2010 .

RRAT inc is affiliated with Motorcycling Queensland as a competition club , enabling us to conduct regular road race meetings and other events in the North Queensland region .

Townsville has a long history of road racing , hosted by the Townsville Motorcycle Club , Norm Petrie and others since 1925 .

The modern era saw the TMCC  – a multi discipline Club currently promoting Dirt Track , Motocross and Speedway meetings – promote regular Road Race meetings at Suncity Raceway from 1998 until the formation of RRAT .

The founding members of RRAT participated in these events at Suncity , and evolution and growth in numbers  paved the way for the Association to be formed as a Road Race only club  in 2010 .

Each year we welcome new members to both our Junior and Senior Rider ranks and look forward to many successful years of racing to come.

Club Meetings

Executive Committee and General meetings are held from time to time , with a minimum of six meetings per year .

Notification of meetings will be made via the email to members and also announced on Website and Facebook.

Junior Corporate Challenge


Under 16? You can come racing with RRAT

We very proudly have the ‘Junior Corporate Challenge’ to help the young riders of Townsville & surrounds have the opportunity of racing with us & they could do so on a sponsored bike.

This is where the bike is supplied for the year. On the road racing style of bike, the minimum age is 12yrs old up to 16 yrs (when they move into the senior classes). On the Motards (dirtbikes with road tyres) the minimum age is 9yrs old & again up to 16 yrs old (when they move into the senior classes). The size of the bikes can range from 80cc’s up to 250cc’s & there are 3 age groups of racing.
